1976. The beginning of the German Grand Prix. Niki Lauda smashes into the banking and his Ferrari 312B2 bursts into flames.
Arturo Merzario, Brett Lunger, Guy Edwards en Harald Ertl are the heroes that pull him out. Severely burned, he is back at the wheel a couple of weeks later,
motivated by his rivalry with James Hunt. Now Ron Howard is creating a movie that depicts the events surrounding this horrific crash. Crash recreation, crash and the legend himself after the jump! Trailer will be posted as soon as it's available!
Agera R chased by Zonda F and cute XFR
A couple of days ago I posted the Agera video made during the Gran Turismo event on the Ring.
Dale from BTG went over there and spotted the only car remotely on the level of the Swedish speed monster: a Pagani Zonda F Clubsport, one of 25 made. Time for a fun run! To bad the camera chase car was a slow Jag... (no offense, in such company some planes are slow). As you'll see in the video after the jump, the drivers are having trouble controlling themselves, when the 1.5 mile Doettinger Hoehe straight comes up, they forget all about that little XFR trying to keep up.
They abused Nike's money...
... And they made it count! Instead of developing a promotional video they just blew all the money Nike gave them on a trip around the world.
And I think they actually made a better commercial and a damn inspirational video! #makeitcount! #checkvidatreadmore!
This is why you respect the Nordschleife
This why you preferably do not run your own car on the Nordschleife. You especially don't run it if it's a useless familycar with a high center of gravity. You definitely don't push anything to the limit on the Ring if you don't know it like the back of your hand... Entertaining crash at "Read More"
Nissan to enter a standard GT-R in the Ring's 24 Hours race
After Aston Martin's entry of a nearly standard Rapide in the 2010 24 hour race on the Ring, it seems Nissan is going down that road this year.
TT3D Closer to the Edge
A tribute to those who dare, for me it was the second most powerful documovie I've seen yet, after "Senna" offcourse. If you think you risk your life daily while riding to work, or you think you're a bigshot visiting tracks over the weekend, you need watch these guys ride/fly.
This is an eye-opener concerning "Road Racing" and the few that have what it takes to push it way beyond the limit. A bend in the middle of a 300km/h city straight, ducking in and moving out a bit in the middle to make it around without headbuttin' the streetlight, madness! Trailer and additional video after the click!
Agera R hits the limiter on the Ring
Once in a while you see something special. This time it's Koenigsegg's beautiful beast... hitting it's rev-limiter... on the Ring's infamous Northern Loop. It takes balls of steel to pilot that thing at those speeds between 2 meters of grass and metal barriers! Listen carefully at about 1:42...
New M3 can't shake a tickled 1M!
This M3 testdriver doesn't seem manage to lose the fanatic 1M driver chasing him with his filming wife/girlfriend/whatever. In all honesty, the 1M's straight atmospheric six has been brought up to 420HP...
